Super Mom Gives Birth To Octuplets
A might women in Bellflower, CA was given birth to the worlds second set of live-born octuplets!!!
How amazing is that! She apparently gave birth yesterday Jan 26th 2007 to 6 Boys and 2 Girls, they weighted between 1.0 lbs and 3.4 lbs, and according to the report they were only expecting 7.
Now I love to watch the TLC Channel and since I am currently pregnant I have a thing for the baby series. I remember one episode where I woman gave birth to multiples and jokingly asked the doctors during the C-section to please check for one more, lol. Well in this case there was ONE MORE!!!
I can't say how proud and happy I am for the mom and dad. I hope that they have created an awesome support group of family, friends and others. I am sure they will need all the help they can get.

It's Killing Me
Tomorrow is my big Sonogram appointment!!!
I cannot wait I am hoping that I can get some sleep tonight. I really would love to have another boy - but in all truth and honesty I couldn't care less.
I would like a boy because I already have two and I am used to them lol - the idea of how different boys are from girls is what scares me.
I guess it's a double standard that I will have to get over should I be carrying a sweet loving mini me. I worry about scraped knees and busted lips and black eyes on little girls. I was one of those little girls, my legs hold many battle scars from climbing trees, playing street hockey and flag football. I never wanted to be a girl scout and sell cookies I wanted to join the boy scouts with my cousin Bird, he did all the cool things like backpacking and camping, he could get a patch if he learned how to make fire !!! I got a patch if I learned out to sew a patch ???
I guess I turned out fine.... I am sure my little girl will turn out fine???? Ahh we shall see tomorrows appointment is for 5pm. Only time will tell.

Update on Yum Yum's Appointment
Fridays appointment went very well, especially considering it was mostly about his dad and they did not have to take any blood from the baby.
The doctors were amazed to have such a complete history file on hubby 10 years later. They thanks his mother many times. We were told that since Hubby's strokes were arterial and not venous it was less likely to be hereditary which is a great thing for the baby!
We were told they will run tests on Hubby's blood and see what they find. If all tests come out fine and there are no signs of anything hereditary or looming, it may be possible that Hubby's blood is a bit more "sticky" than normal. They took 9 vials of blood from Hubby and we will find out the test results within 10 days.
While taking my family history it came out that DS Sporty and I bruise easily and that DS's nose bleeds that we just chocked up to him having sensitive blood vessels in his nose - might point to us have "loose" blood.
The doctor described it as a scale at one end there are people with "sticky" blood meaning they are more apt to clot faster than "normal" and on the other side there are Hemophiliacs. So that being said there is quite the possibility of DS Yum Yum and the baby that I am carrying might be smack dap in the middle. Meaning having both Hubby's blood (sticky) and my blood (loose), meaning they will be perfectly ok.
Well I'll update that when we get the results.

Wish Us Luck
Yum Yum and I are about to head out the door to the doctors. He has an appointment with the pediatric hematologist/oncologist this morning, to run some blood tests. Hubby had a few strokes (yes.... strokes) when he was younger, and we were advised to get Yum Yum tested to look for a genetic link.
Medicine has really changed in the last decade regarding illnesses and for that I am appreciative. I am thankful that both Yum Yum and Hubby will have their blood drawn today and I will know in a few days if either of them are going to be at risk. Either Yum Yum for a stroke in his teenage years or Hubby if he is at risk for another stroke at any time.
I am worried about receiving bad news, but I am confident that they will come out on top.
Also it is good to know if Hubby has this genetic marker because once Pea Pod is born I will know if he/she will need to be tested also.

New Addition To The Family
Recently I have become mommy to a brand new big girl camera. As an early Christmas gift I was given a Nikon D60.
I have wanted a "real" camera for at least 4 years now, and we just never had the chance to splurge until recently. I love taking pictures of just about everything, while I am not in the actual photographer stage I am a pretty good as I call it Picture Takerer.
My goal is to learn this camera inside out before the arrival of our newest family addition. Due on my birthday, June 14th 2009. Here are some shots I took today...

Expecting Baby Number Three
Found out this weekend we are expecting baby number 3 for me!!! I am happily suprised to say the least. Once the shock wore off, I am getting down to business with picking out a Midwife to assist me through the birth.
Sporty wasn't too happy with the news, and accused me of playing a mean joke on him. He even went as far as asking if he can pee on a test to see if they work or not.
Hubby is incredibly happy, he got on the phone withing hours calling friends and family. He keeps asking me who do I think the baby will look like, considering Sporty and Yum-Yum both look like me. I am sure he is praying for a child to look like him.
I will keep yall posted on the progress.
